This book was a cool Fantasy in combination with a slowish burn Romance. The world and the magic system were interesting and clearly well thought through. The telepathic doggies are just the cherry on top of a terrific work of art.

After tearing through the Daindreth saga, I was hungry for more from this universe and the author did not disappoint! I would probably have enjoyed this book just as much even if I was just seeking a viking-themed romance rather than a spinoff from a series I already loved.

I really enjoyed the entire series of Daindreth's Assassin (including Bastard's Honor) via audiobook. The series has just the right blend of world building, character development, fighting the bad guys, and romance.

This is a nice quality bookmark that is quite large. While it may be too large for smaller-sized books, it works perfectly as decoration for any book goblin, book dragon, or book lover.

I LOVE the whole world building, the gradual introduction of the various fantasy elements in a way which is utterly real and believable. The different characters, all with very different, unique voices. Overall a FANTASTIC series on which I'm already hooked after only reading the first book.
